Introduction to Firearms Enhancement Training
This course is designed for first time or current gun owners to improve their marksmanship through the course of fire drills on the range. Scorpion Defense Training Group instructors pride themselves on helping their customers enhance or improve their skill levels. We will cover the importance of firearm safety, situational awareness, personal protection, and the basic nomenclature and operation of handguns, where you can and can’t carry your firearm in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the Virginia laws on self-defense and the use of deadly force.
Introduction to the Handgun
This course begins with classroom training with a brief overview of firearms safety and law regulations for the state of Virginia. This class time provides the opportunity for questions and discussions within a group or as an individual.
Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills as well as situational awareness strategies. prior to moving on to the live-fire range qualification, students will use simulated firearms until they’re comfortable.
Concealed Carry - Drawing From a Holster Class - 2 hours
While using a combination of range and classroom practices in this course you will work on the basic fundamentals of marksmanship. You will learn how to properly draw from a holster or concealment while assessing your threat and get rounds off in a timely fashion. Your instructor will guide you in using strong and weak hand shooting, and flashlight techniques. For this course students are responsible for a minimum of 200 rounds.
Guided Range Familiarization
This class is geared towards clients who are looking to gain range familiarization before making the commitment to obtain a Concealed Carry license or purchase a firearm. During your class you will shoot a variety of 9 millimeter guns while becoming familiar with basic fundamentals of firearms. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills as well as situational awareness strategies. Prior to moving on to the live-fire range qualification, students will use simulated firearms until they're comfortable.
Move, Cover, Engage -Advanced Defensive Handgun Skills
Using a combination of classroom and range practices and live-fire drills you will work on the basic fundamentals of marksmanship, how to properly draw from a holster or concealment while adding dynamic movement and moving to cover or assess your threat and get rounds off in a timely fashion, and use of cover. For this course, students are responsible for a minimum of 200 rounds.
